Anyone else really like having a day off in the middle of the week?
Anyone else really messed up on their days because of it?
Even though it is the 6th, I thought I would add delectable tidbits of 4th of July Joy!
Brandon and I went to Canby to hang with my parents. Dad grilled up some tasty breakfast. Pancakes…bacon… omelets…sausage…tasty tasty bacon…and by grilled I mean grill. Like on the grill.
And that’s my brother, not my dad. He did a bacon weave which he is grilling here.
And of course delicious morning beverages were included!
It was finally a perfect day for the 4th of July. I feel like it’s been years since we’ve had a good one. It always seems to be raining, or cold, or just plain yucky here in the valley on the 4th.
Fortunately good weather means eating outside!
Amy and daughter joined us. Along with my Uncle Titus and his girlfriend Pam.
After breakfast we headed to downtown Canby to hit the public library’s annual sale! And seriously where can you get 14 books and a movie and only pay $7.25? The library’s book sale! That’s where!
Of course the park downtown was packed with people, and food, and music, and fun! There was even a dog race! I know right! A dog race? But yea…there was one.
Aren’t they cute!?
Aaaaaannnnnd…. They’re off! Or Gone! They went super fast that I could only catch their “tail end” 😉
And then there was the parade. I love parades. Canbys has been hit and miss the past couple years. This year was pretty good. It even had 2 bands! 2! That’s pretty awesome for Canby!
Of course I snapped some pics just like any good photographer would do.
I’ll end this post with some of those pics. And be sure to check out my photography blog where I will be posting my latest photo shoot with my god daughter Twila!
Happy 4th everyone.
And remember that we are a free country because of those in the military that have kept us that way, past and present.
